About Us

Scouts.Digital was built in by a Scout Group Leader in response to a need to simplify the management of his scout group.
We found that the time it takes to generate reports for groups, census data, and district and regional reports to be extremely time consuming.
We also found that with some very simple mechanisms, managing a scout group could be reduced from several hours a week to under 30 minutes a month.

Management Team

Managed & Maintained by Richard Shearer (SGL @ 1st Morningside, Sandton), Scouts.Digital is Richard's brain child, conceived from a need to generate rapid reports available to the entire group structure.

Richard has built several high end websites & Management Systems encompassing eCommerce, Reservations Systems, Intranets, CRM Systems, Support Management Systems and System Management Software. Richard can be contacted at richard@scouts.digital

Our History

In 2014, our scout group had a fantastic Committee who managed the financials of our group like clockwork, freeing Scouters up to concentrate on managaging the cubs & scouts effectively.

At the end of 2014, after 4 years tenure, the Committee stepped down at the AGM and were replaced with a younger Committee.

We decided that the task of monitoring and reporting on the activities within our scout group was becoming very time consuming

Scouts.Digital was born from this and launched in a controlled environment to our group and a group in our district.

2015 was used to ensure that the choices we made were valid and real.

Scouts.Digital will continue to grow and features will be added based on our needs and requirements at the time.

We also continually monitor the requests for additional features that come through our support system and periodically add features.
